So, I guess we’ve reached halfway through this yearly challenge? That’s kind of mad, to be honest. I remember writing the blog post committing to do this on Jan 1st and now we’re halfway there! Here’s what I listened to over the end of May, and throughout the first few days of June. Enjoy my loves:
May 30th- Feel It Still: Portugal. The Man
This literally came on the radio when we were in the car and we couldn’t for the life of us remember who sang it. It got stuck in my head pretty much for the rest of the week, so I had to give that lil’ earworm of a song, a spot on my monthly playlist. Also, talk about one hit wonder?
May 31st- These Days: Jess Glynne, Macklemore
I have a real feeling that I’ve already chosen this song, but I cba to go back over my other playlists and look for it ha! To be honest, I think this song just speaks a whole lot of truth. It’s nice when you can get past the shit and rekindle a friendship with someone from the past.
June 1st- Give Yourself a Try: The 1975
FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY. If you know me in the slightest, you will know that I LOVE ‘The 1975’ with an undying passion. We’ve been waiting for new music for a while now, and the first release off the new album does not disappoint.
June 2nd- In My Blood: Shawn Mendes
This song is SO beautiful. Although I wasn’t feeling particularly anxious on this day, I thought I’d add it, as the lyrics really REALLY got to me and it might be something that I’ll want on my playlist in the next few weeks.
June 3rd- Live It Up: Nicky Jam, Will Smith, Era Istrafi
I’m really not into football, FIFA or the World Cup at all, but I now work in an office that is 98% males who are into football, so it’s basically been the only thing that I hear talked about. If I’m gonna embrace it, I might as well start with this song. It’s actually super catchy, and kinda gives me ‘Despacito’ vibes.
June 4th- 5 In The Morning: Charli XCX
Idk it’s Monday and I needed some catchy pop to keep me going?
So, that’s it for this week! See ya in 7 days for the next part of June!
