Song a day May: Part 2

Well damn son we’re nearly halfway through May! My music this week has been such a weird mix, because I’ve been so busy with life and family and work that I haven’t really been choosing songs with much care. Still, hope you enjoy:

May 8th: IDGAF- Dua Lipa

Writing this back I can’t even remember why the hell I was so annoyed, but there was definitely someone/ something pushing all my buttons the wrong way. I didn’t rate this song that much when it came out, but after a few listens when I’m feeling bitchy and passive-aggressive, it seems to have grown on me!

May 9th: Perfect Illusion – Lady Gaga

I was feeling super reflective about how I used to allow people to basically walk the fuck all over me, and I’m actually so damn proud of how far I’ve come as a person. Still, kinda wild to remember how shittily people used to treat you.

May 10th: Journey to the Past- Christy Altomare

Enough with the angst and ‘woe is me’ songs, I actually just felt like putting a really damn beautiful one on my playlist. This is from the musical ‘Anastasia’, which better frigging come to London soon, or I might just explode. (Or have to fly to New York again..)

May 11th: Girls – Rita Ora, Bebe Rexha, Charli XCX, Cardi B

OK, bad choice of song in hindsight. This came out for ‘New Music Friday’ and I’ll be honest, when I heard this I thought it was super cute and catchy, but I’ve since been educated slightly more on why bisexuals may have an issue with it. You can read that thread here:

May 12th: Fairytale – Alexander Ryback

EUROVISION!! I went to a party at a friend’s house and honestly had the most lovely evening yelling at the TV and drinking way too much wine (I actually fell asleep on the sofa lol #adulting) but this is the first song I loved when I watched Eurovision as a child.

May 13th: Right Place Right Time: Olly Murs

I LOVE THIS SONG. Literally, this is actually one of my favourites (which is cringe because it’s Olly Murs, but whatever) so I felt like it deserved a spot this week. I’m forever catching myself feeling so lucky and happy, so this is for that I guess?

May 14th: Would You Be So Kind: Dodie

Monday morning AGAIN, ugh. I needed something peppy, cheerful and cute to get my day started, because believe me, there is nothing I’d rather be doing less than going to work right now. I also watched a bunch of Dodie videos this morning whilst sorting my face out, so it seemed the perfect choice.

So that’s it for this week! You can check out the entire monthly playlist below or see all the previous posts here.
